We enhance the health and vitality of every one of our patients through holistic chiropractic adjustments. We aim to become the leading health and wellness center for the community of Mammoth Lakes, and to work as a team with other health practitioners in the area to provide the best all-around care for our patients.
What we do
We firmly believe optimal health depends on a properly functioning nervous system. The most important and delicate organs of this system are supported and protected by the skull and spinal vertebrae; when misaligned, these structures and the surrounding tissues can irritate and therefore interfere with the nerve impulses to and from the brain. As doctors of chiropractic, they locate these points of interference and correct the spinal misalignments, so the body can reestablish its balance and heal itself to the best of its ability. Ideal health and performance are attained through the proper balance of exercise, nutrition, and care of the body’s framework.
Chiropractic is a holistic method of health care focusing on the motion of the spine, and consequently the health and functionality of the nervous system. At Sierra Spine and Wellness, we use hands-on techniques to manually manipulate or adjust the spine and extremities, as well as soft tissue techniques, both manual and instrument assisted, to allow optimal connectivity between brain and body as well as peak performance for life’s activities.
More and more parents are adding chiropractic care to their family’s health and wellness routine. The importance for infants and kids to receive chiropractic care is paramount not only for their growing bodies but making sure their entire body is functioning at 100% through maintaining proper nervous system control. Many parents mistakenly think we use the same techniques on children as we do on adults. Chiropractic care is ‘tailored’ to the individual and their particular spine, and children are no exception. We offer specific, gentle adjustments appropriate to the infant and child’s spine and cranium. Unless a child has an obvious problem it can be difficult for a parent to recognize when a child’s spine is not working correctly. There are some signs that can indicate spinal problems, including, but not limited to:
- disturbed sleeping patterns
- breastfeeding difficulties
- restricted head or neck movement to one side
- low apgar scores
- chronic reoccurring colds or sore throats
- chronic reoccurring otitis media
